offering my experience and expertiese from here on

I would like some further advise from some other people as to how I can become more involved with engaging positively wiht the social community as well as to gain employment for any possible and at least potentially successful business suggestions.

If anyone would like to get back to me please leave me a message here and definately not on my email for the moment.

  • I hope anyone feeling like saying more will also feel like they can contribute their views.

  • Hi Weecol, I found it useful to watch and listen from the edge of a group to see what they talked about, that coincided with my interests. I would then talk to one person at a time, rather than join a group talking. It is useful to have a broad range of knowledge, not in depth, so that you can try different topics of conversation. Just watching the news and weather or TV programmes and try asking someone what they think about an item can get you started. It depends when and where you meet people really. I hope this doesn't sound insultingly basic. I don't know your circumstances.

    Best wishes

    Hi Weecol,

This forum is a good place to chat with people with other people with autism. Have you learnt much about your condition from books or from your helpers?

I often recommend a book "Living Well on the Spectrum" by Valerie Gaus. I don't know if you would like it as I don't know much about you. The book has suggestions about how to get on better with life with autism.
