Fireworks

How is everyone coping with the fireworks?

It’s now night 4 and still sounding like a war zone. I can still feel and hear them even when they arnt going off. My dog is being sick. From experience I know this will be going on for at least another week.

I cannot stand the injustice of why on earth they sell explosives to the general public. They harm people, animals and the environment. I opened my door this this morning and the air pollution was unreal. I read that there was a 30 vehicle pile up last night somewhere in the UK. I hope all are OK, however please let’s not blame it on “FOG”. Its firework and bonfire pollution make no mistake. Such liars. I am so cross of this year in year out. I’m also exhausted and here we go again for another night of stress and noise Sleepy

I hope everyone is OK

  • The fireworks here started around the middle of last week. Partly that's because there are also folks celebrating Diwali, but I suspect there's also an element of kids setting them off for their own fun. Several years ago, some kids were letting off fireworks in the recreation grounds across the road from our house, and some fireworks shot out horizontally across the road, it was a miracle no property, vehicle or people came to harm! Thankfully, that hasn't happened again, but I agree that something needs to be done to make it harder to get hold of fireworks, or at least make them smaller and less noisy.

I've been playing music loud to drown out the racket from our neighbourhood.

  • Sorry to hear that. It’s been similar here, the kids having been throwing them at houses. Like you do woman shrugging: medium-light skin tone what music do you have on? I had classical at full volume last night. Keep forgetting I can use my earplugs

  • BBC Radio 3 Unwind is good, with the added bonus of no adverts or news bulletins.
