Bad supermarket experience

Went to asda today and I was really overwhelmed already due to people outidde weaving in and out of people with no thought of safety but inside I had to tranfare money to my card and the signal was so slow so it failed 3 times but finally I was rwdy to go pay but the self service was blocked by a memembe of staff taking wat too long to take the tag of a bottle of whisky(I blame stupid meassures making his job harder) and when I finally get to the till the price is 30p higher so I have to transfafe that and it's tksibg so long and the till keeps asking if I'm still using it so yeah I had a bad meltdown and customers and staff alike just started like they were judging and then on my way out of the till area a kid is running about whilst his mother couslnt care less as she's multi tasking between her shopping and her mobile phone and obviously forgerttint her kid this meltdown lasted all the way home and a guy was staring at me

I used to work retail and I full well could tell meltdowns and tantrums apart even before I knew I was autistic but obviously most staff aren't trained and do not care

But I used to help my disabled customers in any way I could like I had one lad who would not understand her bust you were so I'd justbpolity explain and that ess fine but others would get frustrated

  • Our local ASDA store is huge, and as a result the noise is amplified as it reverberates around. Slight frown I've always found it stressful going in there in-person, so I'm glad that we can put in weekly shopping order online and have it delivered. It doesn't help that they seem to rearrange everything in the store layout every few years. I'd probably invest in noise-reducing earbuds if I have to start shopping in store again.
