Research background
My name is Sarah and I am a Trainee Clinical Psychologist at the University of Hull. For my doctoral research project, supervised by Dr Nick Hutchinson, I am exploring autistic young adults' experiences of transitioning from Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) to Adult Mental Health Services (AMHS). This topic is particularly important to me because, in my previous role as a Healthcare Assistant, I supported many autistic people through this transition. The study aims to understand what makes the move from CAMHS to AMHS easier or more challenging, how it affects wellbeing over time, and how services can better support autistic people during this important stage of life.
Who are we looking for?
I am looking for autistic adults aged 20-30 who have directly transitioned from CAMHS to AMHS in the UK.
What does taking part involve?
Participation involves a one-to-one interview with myself, either online via Microsoft Teams or face-to-face (where feasible), lasting approximately 60 minutes (but may take longer to account for breaks and other reasonable adjustments), along with a short background questionnaire.
Reimbursement
As a thank you for their time and contribution, participants will receive a £10 Amazon voucher.
