This 'elephant in the room' phrase gets used a lot in business. My brain always took me to a real elephant first, so here's an old favourite of mine, Babar.
Maybe you have a favourite elephant or other (cartoon or real) animal you'd like to have 'in the room'? Do share if so...
For me it also takes effort to consider certain phrases without something literal, e.g. that image.
Except in this particular case nothing comes to mind, I find it somewhat meaningless.
For me, it would have to be Danger Mouse.
I loved that show in the 80s. Probably helped by the actors doing the voices — David Jason as DM, and the late Terry Scott as Penfold. So much so that I've used the character names for my various desktop / laptop / phone / tablet devices over the years. 
I used to love Babar.
Dumbo was a favourite.
