seeking opinion on diagnosis

Is there anyone here who is not aiming to have the diagnosis and just wanted a community support because they believe they have some traits of autism? I am in my mid-40s, and I feel like I just need to find strategies to cope with my difficulties, and I will be fine. I just wonder what everyone's opinion is about not getting a diagnosis.

  • I joined this forum years ago when I was researching autism and working out if it linked to the various difficulties I was having and it was really useful.  I didn't use it loads and not enough to really feel part of the community but I know that there are plenty of people willing to share advice and support with those without a formal diagnosis.  Personally, I spent about 3 years on the NHS waiting list before I was finally diagnosed and have found diagnosis helped me a lot but there is plenty of peer support available either way.
