seeking opinion on diagnosis

Is there anyone here who is not aiming to have the diagnosis and just wanted a community support because they believe they have some traits of autism? I am in my mid-40s, and I feel like I just need to find strategies to cope with my difficulties, and I will be fine. I just wonder what everyone's opinion is about not getting a diagnosis.

  • I have a diagnosis and needed an independent professional opinion. However, given autism's mix of elements and intensity, it seems sensible not to have an assessment if your autism has fairly low impact on your functioning. Of course, curiosity could be another driving force.
