Functions/Parties in Someone’s Home

Wave tone2 I wanted to paste this here from my reply to another thread. It got me thinking and wanted to know if anyone experiences this. Here goes…

Theres something about a gathering/party/function in someone’s home. It always feels off to me. Like amongst all the sensory/communication mis matches, is the feeling that your in the wrong place for a “party” like this is a home, with particular smells and textures and places you can or can’t go, and no where to escape to other then the bathroom, which often isn’t very private, making it even more difficult to relax and not think about everything that comes with it. That environment is very very intimate and it makes my toes curl Nauseated face

  • I’ve thought back to my late teens, I would get invited to house parties, but basically didn’t know what to do when there. Everyone else just seemed to have fun and attracted girlfriends, I don’t know how people just know you are different. In the end, I realised I was only invited because I could drive.

    Other peoples houses do have strange smells, I don’t think they notice it, There is also nowhere to hide and people insist on this hugging thing when you arrive. ( shudders)
