Jackdaw approved, should Rosebank be too?

I feel mixed about more drilling in the North Sea and I don't like the idea of more extraction and the environmental impacts of fosil fuel use, but I can see that we need gas and that it's better to get it from closer to home, although it will only give us 2% of our gas.

I do not agree with Rosebank being opened, I get that with whats going on in the Middle East is a problem, but any oil thats extracted will be sold on the open market and will do nothing to the cost of domestic oil and petrol prices.

What say you folks?

    We are in the unfortunate position of not being able to control our own oil prices, and most of Rosebank’s oil will be sent to the Netherlands for processing. With the shortage of energy supplies in Europe and the UK, some small benefit in energy security could be significant. Clearly, the big benefits are economic in terms of jobs and the economy.
