Advisory members wanted: Help develop a study exploring autism and Functional Neurological Disorder (FND)

Note: This account only posts external research that has been approved by the NAS research team.

We are recruiting volunteers to help us design and improve our study exploring factors that might help explain why FND appears to be more common among autistic people. We are looking for adults (aged over 18 years) who are autistic, have FND, or are both autistic and have FND. Taking part would involve supporting us with tasks including reviewing study materials like information sheets and questionnaires and advising us on how we might improve these to make them more accessible or meaningful. We might also ask you to share your perspective on the importance of the study and any changes you might make, as well as your views on our findings and what they might mean. You do not need to have any research experience and can choose how much you contribute. You can also choose how you give feedback, either in online meetings, phone calls, or in writing (via email). We will ask for up to 3-4 hours of your time in total, over a period of 15 months. We can also offer financial compensation at a rate of £15 per hour.
