I read some of the points the professor made, he’s right, people shouldn’t have to wait until they get a diagnosis for help to be available. Does he realise there is little help even after a diagnosis, let alone before?
There isn’t an explosion of people being autistic or adhd.
Someone wrote yesterday on a different platform, “Space doesn’t now have more stars in it, we invented the telescope, we are now able to just see more stars.” I thought that was a good analogy.
Media headlines are there to obviously grab attention, the headlines should at least be accurate.
I obviously don’t speak for all autistic people, but I feel autistic people often feel they are of little worth, I know I do. Vilifying us as being scroungers and accusing us of actually making up being autistic or ADHD is just turning the masses against us even further. I can’t think of another condition that requires someone to hide the condition so to avoid negative comments.

More people are being diagnosed as ADHD because we understand it more and further more things like tik tok bribg ADHD symptoms to the forefront as they feed the need for novelty which in turn tightens the sensations of lack of attention that may of been manageable in early life.
