Help us preserve sixteen years of Online Community history

This month we're starting a small legacy project to celebrate and preserve some of the most meaningful discussions from the National Autistic Society Online Community.
Over the past sixteen years, members have:
  • supported each other through diagnosis
  • shared advice and experiences
  • built friendships
  • explained what life is really like as an autistic person
  • helped others feel less alone
We know many of you have favourite discussions or memorable moments that have stayed with you and we'd love your help identifying threads that deserve to be remembered.
You can nominate:
  • a discussion that helped you
  • a discussion you still think about
  • a thread that taught you something important
  • a community tradition you value
  • a conversation that captures what makes this community special
You do not need to explain personal details if you do not wish to. Just share the thread link and tell us why you think it matters.
Thank you for helping us preserve the community's history.

  • For those of us who have been around a little longer,   brought so much good advice and support to so many and I definitely miss his input here. He was very supportive when I first joined the forum. I tried to find an iconic one of his but they are so numerous so instead I have his introduction to himself  Hi. I'm Plastic. .

  • I came on here after Plastic, I think towards the end of the pandemic. I remember Luna though, who put some lovely replies on posts. I miss others who decided to leave. The first post I put on here I believe was about going into work in a changed  hot desking environment and I had a very helpful reply from a teacher who explained how she coped with moving rooms during the pandemic. From replies, I realised that I was not the only one who found this hard. It has been good to find others who think in the same way. This confirmed that working from home was the way forward.

I enjoy the wildlife/clouds type posts and have learnt a lot I didn't know from knowledgeable people. I enjoy the current wildlife experts and also remember Debbie's knowledge of bees.
