Stationery Stuff

I’ve always loved going into stationery stores. And now that they’re doing such huge marketing, I’m obsessed.
I'm starting this thread to share experiences buying stationery items online. Websites overwhelm me, and I find it really hard to decide; most of the time I end up closing all the pages because I get so overwhelmed. I saw the Mishmash website, but it seemed too disorganized to choose items. I also saw the Hobonichi Techo, but I didn't browse the site because it overwhelmed me at first glance. For now, I’d like to buy a notebook that includes a calendar, lined pages, and pages for drawing. Does anyone have experience buying from them?

  • I'm a fan of pen and paper. Due to a case of Dupuytren's contracture, it was getting difficult for me to hold a pen. I discovered that fountain pens are easier to grip (due to the larger barrel) and require virtually no pressure. I've had treatment for my hand, but now I don't like using a ball point pen. I find the feel of a fountain pen as it glides across the paper to be much more satisfying. Fountain pens can be absurdly expensive, but there are quite a few that don't cost much. I like the Pilot Metropolitan with a 1.0 mm stub nib quite a bit. It's made of brass rather than plastic, and it's fairly inexpensive. The cap makes a pleasing "click" when you put it on. I find myself absentmindedly repeatedly uncapping and capping it.

My favorite paper for fountain pens is the Endless Recorder https://www.madebyendless.com/ The paper is very white, so it shows the color of the ink nicely. and it doesn't bleed, ghost, or feather, which can be an issue with some paper.
