Sourdough Thread.

I have seen sourdough mentioned a few times in the 3 good things thread and id like to get some hints, tips and benefits if you are willing to share.Relaxed️

I find sourdough easier on my stomach and I really like the taste. A nurse at work gave me some active starter to get me started, which was really kind of her.

My favourite so far has been cheese and Marmite Yum IT was a bit dense though, but very tasty.

Please feel free to share your recipes and creations, whatever you like really...oh and especially your bread pics.Smile

  • I did try and make a starter but it just went mouldy, how do you make it?

We always use a bread machine for our usual bread, but I like experiementing, I love my Scandi potato and rye bread, I might make some over the next few days if I've the time

  • Roughly 50g bread flour and 50g boiled cooled water, consistency of double cream.

You mix them together in a jar and leave it somewhere warm, then keep feeding it with flour and water until it gets bubbly and starts rising.

I try not to let too much starter build up around the sides of the jar which helps it to stay mold-free.

I like the sound of the Scandi bread ...please add the recipe here.Bread
