Pride in myself

Hello I am 42 years old and I am currently waiting to be assessed for autism.

I have noticed over the years that I don't really get pride in anything I do.However , the one thing that I am truly passionate  about is football.

My son plays under fifteens on a Saturday and under sixteens on a Sunday, Whilst I play veterans football on a sunday as well.

For the last six years , I have also coached what is  now an under fifteen's team and whilst we have achieved a lot and won many trophies , nothing really has brought me pride, until last year.

Last year , myself and one of my teammates began a pan disability football club.

We serve children between five and eleven, some of them with physical disabilities but many more with a neurodivergent , I don't want to say disability , so I will say , brain.

My Pride comes with giving them the ability to be able to play the sport that I love, because I truly believe football should be for everybody, no matter your ability age, Colour of your skin, or sex.

Then, in June, we received an award and recognition from the English football association. The certificate is proudly shown in our football club's Clubhouse And I just wanted to share this with you, lovely people.

And I've done all this while masking and hiding the fact that I have suspected for many years that I am autistic myself.
