Overstimulation

Hey! I'm sorry if this has been posted before but I just wanted to know what your personal overstimulation looks like. I'm not entirely sure if I actually do get overstimulated or not. It can be hard to tell sometimes. For example, last night I was out drinking with my partner and suddenly I felt really sick and everything was too much (the only way to describe it). I went outside, and instantly felt okay again. I'm not sure if that could be linked or if that's just me having an upset stomach.

What is it like for you?

  • If I am overstimulated or overwhelmed I know in hindsight there would be subtle signs such as a bit grumpy, not hearing conversations well, a bit daydreamy and avoiding the current situation. Then I find everything blurs and I feel tears coming and can’t look at anyone. At this point I need to leave the situation. Unfortunately this happened the other day as I was getting on an aeroplane. It was awful.
