Please share anything you make in any way.

So, some examples: drawing, photography, digital art, painting, illustration, knitting, weaving, baking etc etc.

I will upload something myself at some point soon.

It doesn't have to be your own if you would like to share something from someone/somewhere else that you like.

  • Something  said prompted me to recall this brialliant art installation by Lyn Malcolm titled "Why do we have so few great women artists?" It demonstrates how women's creativity was quashed and had to be expressed by domestic arts. Each item in the installation spells out one of the words of the title, using only those arts women were permitted..

    What a fabulous installation! If you look at statistics on who is attending craft groups and workshops, it would be mostly women, yet the term is crafts MAN. And still today, crafts are looked at as something inferior to the arts, especially regarding opportunities and funding. Even through craft-dedicated funding bodies, unless you can attach some "arty bollocks" to your idea, your chances are very slim.

    I do like how a lot of people in the crochet, knitting, embroidery etc circles refer to it as "fiber arts" and the people making it as "fiber artists"

    I tend to use "designer maker" as an alternative to "craftsman."

    Regards, "bollocks", I do love good conceptual art with a strong concept behind it, but mostly you will see *** with some mediocre art attached to it. Sad that the latter one is what's expected to succeed in art

    Damned bollocks! A friend's daughter choses a uni with a non-bollocks art course - and then they changed it while she was in her third year to demand bollocks as well as art.
