glad to see your spider plants get a summer holiday too!  - fun use of the sunflower - I am really into the seed patterns on those flower heads - did you know that they are often highlighted as being in a Fibonacci number sequence?  Appears deeply as part of natures natural pattern apparently (though in real life the numbers get a bit messy some times).

I'm wondering when to bring my spider plants in at the moment - getting a bit chilly round here at night times now.

I've been into fractal geometry and analysis for a while - sunflowers are oft cited - some interesting correlates for biomechanics that I was especially drawn to (heart chamber ratios, interior structures for bone etc) - that "golden mean" often expressed in art and understandably speculation due to the subjective nature of art appreciation - the maths does't lie tho' as for plants and nature as a micro and macro whole (including galaxies!) is all about optimisation and spacial efficiencies.  Physics doesn't compromise!

I would be interested to hear more about that. I'm going to bring my  houseplants in soon, but they've really benefitted from being outside, the leaves being glossy and well pigmented.
