Halnaker tree tunnel

Magical! 

I could believe that was a portal to another magical world.

It reminds me of when we were kids, there was a door beside my dad's work, and you could look through the keyhole and it wasn't an inside, as you could see green outside, so I declared it was a door to another world. My sister told me a few years ago, that she believed it too for many years also. It was our secret that we could see it, and no one else could. My older brother couldn't, as he said it was just the other side of the river.

Must be wonderful to go there, and stand when no one else is about and imagine where it might take you.

I have a particular memory of her as a toddler marching off across a field to avoid having to listen to the adult small talk I'd been caught up in.

That coupled with her blank stare when they try talk to her and she doesn't reply mean I think people do think she's rude, but I know she's just not comfortable with it and try to cover for her. 

I do love that autumnal shot, I can feel the trees breathing and feel the pull of falling into the image. I'll have to look up some more, and maybe get inspired to do some art again.

Yes, it's very difficult to know what to do in that situation. Especially when you can't just excuse yourself and keep going on your walk as you wanted to stay and take the picture with a little privacy.

(My daughter has never tolerated adults having conversations, since a toddler she has just walked off, and I'd have to run after her either way. )

Seeing the tunnel in the autumn would be spectacular, if the leaves have their colour and don't just fall off this year. I did take a screenshot, as I do when I see something particularly awe-inspiring!

I do love a liminal space, especially if no one else is there, and you can stop and enjoy it's secrets.

Last time (and the first time) a photographer decided to go into great detail with me about cameras when I really didn't want to lose the light before I took my images.

It's very hard to stop talkative people who aren't empathetic without causing offence.

Lovely ideas there by-the-way.

Maybe it's a rather 'liminal' space as it is transitionary.
