Government announcement today that we should stock up on food etc

Here is the BBC article:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cp931m8n3p5o

Besides extreme weather events there is the danger of cyber attacks and warfare.

We are very far in the UK from self reliance, as a country/set of countries.

I've heard of 'preppers' - people who have already stocked up a great deal of supplies for the event of extreme conditions - often in the US.

There are also people who own bunkers.

This thread is to share ideas about:

1.  Whether you will actually do anything

2.  If so, what will you stock?

and any other comments about the situation, which is the first I've experienced like this in my lifetime.

I am thinking back to my parents generation and WW2, rations etc.

  • Stocking up on:

Fruit and herbal, caffeine free tea bags,

    hot chocolate sachets

toiletries like shower gel, shampoo, body lotion etc

paracetamol as i get tension headaches and weather related.

Puzzle and colouring books, already ploughing through.

Books from the exchange as the library maybe out of action.

Note books for journals and making notes.

I've got a portable radio (hopefully works)

    Keeping calm

    Reminds me of lockdown
