As the Nature thread is rather slow to load now as it's a bit cumbersome, and as threads are locked after 6 months, I thought I'd start a thread for the wonderful 'season of mists and mellow fruitfulness' rather early, as it's not the 1st September yet.
I don't think I've ever been so glad to get one season kicked out the door and see another arrive.
Please share anything autumnal.

Today I visited Winkworth Arboretum.
I was disappointed at the lack of colour - most of the trees haven't turned and usually it's stunning.
It's a couple of weeks earlier than I've been before but I fear they may not reach their full glory this year because of a 'false autumn', drought and lack of cold nights.
I took a couple of photos of the lake on my phone.
