Missed seeing Toy Story 5

I was meant to see Toy Story 5 at Keswick cinema at 2:15, but I couldn't get parked anywhere. I hate driving and specifically sitting in standing traffic, so I had a autistic meltdown in my car, screaming and elbowing my door. Then someone on a bike abused me because I cut them off on a round about because of my diminished perception being so overwhelmed and disregulated. It am process it, feeling angry and not sure what to do now because I thought I would be watching the film.

I live in Cockermouth which I love, but I went to Keswick when I was wanting to move out of my parents house and I couldn't stand it there with all the tourists. Cockermouth is really the only nice town in the entirety of Cumbria, all the others are either poor or for tourists. I have done a lot of emotional work on myself so I am proud of myself and think I did great managing it and getting home safely. I have emailed the cinema about moving my ticket as well.

Its been less than a year since I understand I had autism and what it is, and each time something like this happens I am understanding myself and how autism impacts on my life. Its a positive thing as I keep learning and I am positive and kind within myself. Thanks.

  • Maybe you need to start focusing on learning what impacts you sensorily,  socially, demand tolerance , etc and come to terms with your capabilities regarding energy accounting , social battery etc ?

  • Exactly. I was feeling overwhelmed just getting into Keswick feeling its in my stomach and panicking, but I mistook it for fear of going to the cinema and worry about getting parked, but it was being overwhelmed by all the people and cars. So I need to learn from this feeling and recognize it next time and just go home and ringing the cinema. I did do this recently when I had burn out when I was going to a wedding and just decided to stay at home. Thanks.
