  • Hello Ellie1984

I'm so sorry to hear that you are feeling so alone and unclear about what to do. As other community members have said, you do belong here. Many people here have been through exactly what you have expressed and we would like you to know you are a valued member of this community.

The National Autistic Society does not currently operate a crisis or emergency service. If you’re finding it hard to cope or have thoughts of harming yourself, please seek help. If you feel you [or anyone else] is at risk of immediate harm, dial 999 or contact one of the mental health crisis lines listed on our Urgent Help Page:

You could call your GP and ask for an urgent appointment – they can help you get the right support.

If it’s not an emergency but you’re still struggling, speaking to a health professional can help. If your GP is closed, you can call 111 for NHS support. In England, Wales and Scotland, you can now choose option 2 to speak directly with mental health professionals: https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-services/urgent-and-emergency-care-services/when-to-use-111/.

    • Shout – Text 85258, 24 hours a day
    • Mind Infoline – 0300 123 3393 (Mon–Fri, 9am-6pm)
I hope some of this is helpful for you and remember, we’re here and listening to you.

    Take care,

  • Thanks. Went through the gp a while ago and they said there was nothing they could offer me.  Tried 111 once and they laughed at me when I explained I thought I might be autistic.

  • That's why i feel so alone and lost. There is no where to turn now.

  • I think you meant you don't belong in this world rather than this forum, where of course you are welcome? You say you feel so alone and lost, with nowhere to turn, and I absolutely relate to that. Most mornings I wake up and start ruminating. At some point I find myself thinking that maybe today will be the day I meet someone I CAN talk to, but it never happens.

The point I'm trying to make is that you are definitely NOT alone. People on here get it, and whilst we may not be there for you, we're certainly here for you.
