Got Diagnosed a few months ago anyone got any suggestions i might be able to get support from because i feel like i don't see or get much support

Got Diagnosed a months ago anyone got any suggestions i might be able to get support from because i feel like i am only getting help from myself only by getting lucky with  answers online and the many times i went to my GP and felt like they don't want to help its all on my shoulders to figure out a direction and keep seeing if it works or helps which can take years .

While also trying to deal with regular Autism on a day to basic and things that can come with it.

While also Job centre only finding out recently that your Autistic and want you to work but there is no support again.

I don't trust my ability and the job market so my confidence is low

so i'll do what i always do try something and hope it works and ask here to see if i can get any advice or suggestions that might help improve my life.

  • Hi there, and thanks for reaching out.  I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing a lack of support on various fronts right now - it must be really difficult, but I'm sure our wonderful community members will have a lot of advice for you!

In the meantime, you might like to have a look at some of our NAS advice and guidance pages:

Formal support following an autism diagnosis

Employment - there is a lot here, including support to find a job and what support you can request when you are in employment.

As well as this, if you feel your GP is unsupportive, it may be a good idea to see if you can ask to speak to a different GP within your practice, if that is something that's available to you.

Wishing you all the best, and remember that you are not alone in having a tough time - the online community is always here to help you get through it.
