TV Program 7up.

I’ve been following the series over the last 40 years or so, a group of 14 people are interviewed every seven years from the age of seven in 1963, this two parter will be the last as they have now reached seventy. It started as a nature or nurture experiment as they are all from different backgrounds, some from very privileged backgrounds and some very working class.

Sadly two have passed away plus the original interviewer. I believe it’s scheduled for the Autumn.

  • I remember hearing about the 7 Up series but I’ve never actually followed it from the beginning. The idea of checking in with the same people every seven years is fascinating though, especially seeing how differently their lives develop depending on their circumstances.

    It must be quite strange watching the final programme knowing it’s effectively the end of something that’s been going for decades. I’ll definitely keep an eye out for it when it airs in the autumn. There’s something quite nice about having a few old programmes like this to come back to and watch properly rather than just having everything new all the time.
