Advice on how to cope with autistic burnout

I was diagnosed with Autism at 23, I’m now 27, even though having my autism diagnosis has helped me a lot, in understanding myself, I really struggle with neurotypical people misunderstanding me and not understanding how I process the world, even if I explain it as best as I can, I find this exhausting, does anyone have any advice for dealing with burnout from this?

  • I understand how you feel. Ive worked with neurodivergent people in the past and found there can be clashes in misunderstanding, because everyone is so different.

Burnout was a big point for me in the past, and found understanding why it happens first and it's mechanisms is part of the coping process. For me, information overload and 10 or so conversation topics in a few minutes is a quick route to that. Understanding the causes can help build solutions.

Do you have any hobbies or specific interests? Maybe something you want to try? That could be something to look at and explore more to help tackle burnt out and thrive.
