So, please share any 'wise' old sayings.

I'll start.

'A stitch in time saves nine'.

I'm curious about whether anyone under 50 mends (eg sews) their clothes to make them last in these days of cheap throwaways items.

    A lot of modern items can't be mended they're made to be disposable, I will darn walking socks, but not the normal thin ones.

    Many things you just can't get into to fix, they're all sealed, or the fabric is of such poor quality that in order to take up a hem thats been overlocked, you have to take the whole thing, you can't just sew the bit thats dropped.
