Panics over lost items

I went to pick up my guitar and the capo wasn’t where it usually is so my body/brain went into full panic mode. I wasn’t going to be able to sleep until I found it. But thankfully I managed to find it so, my body came out of panic mode. I legit felt myself relax the second my eyes caught it. Is this a normal thing for autism?? Or is it something else? It’s a normal thing for me. If I lose something my brain just starts going haywire and I can’t control it. It’s like nothing can be done until it’s found ya know?

  • I am sure you are not alone. I can get very agitated and can spend many fruitless hours looking for a missing item. I am very spatially aware and usually can close my eyes and point to where thing is amongst a very untidy landscape. I get very upset if I cannot find it. Of course, it does turn up eventually; often after I have bought a replacement from Amazon. I don’t know why I get so wound up though.

  • Ever had it where you move house or something and still no sign?

I still have no idea how hat happened to my childhood phantom mence top or the empire strikes back top I got as an adult.

Even worse is when I think I lost something I just bought and I have to retrace my steps and realise I decided against buying it
