Looking for Lived Experiences: Redundancy & Equality Issues

I’m reaching out to see if anyone has experience of redundancy where autism‑related needs were part of the picture ; for example, communication differences, adjustment requests, or difficulties with unclear processes.

I’m not asking for legal advice. I’m more interested in hearing how others navigated the emotional and practical side of it.

If you’re willing to share:

  • Did your employer acknowledge your needs?

  • Did the process feel fair or was it complicated by misunderstandings?

  • And has anyone here ever taken an Equality Act issue to an employment tribunal? I’d really value hearing what the experience was like.

Thanks in advance to anyone who feels able to talk about it.

  • are you a union member - reach out to them if you are

start collating evidence - dates, siituations, even small comments - if you haven;t already done so  - you will need this if you do start legal action for sure

I havent been to tribunal but understand from those who have headed that way - your company will try to negotiate a settlement even up to right before the hearing

    good luck !
