PIP in person assessment

Hi! I've got my PIP in-person assessment in a few weeks and I'm a bit nervous about what they're going to ask. I've also seen people having a lot of negative experiences with it. Has anyone got any advice or tips?

(I've been diagnosed with autism via Right to Choose and have dealt with anxiety and depression for many years which I've sent them proof of etc)

Thank you Slight smile

  • don't worry - no matter what you say, you'll pretty much guarenteed 0 points

Diagnosis doesnt equal points - same for how long you've had issues for

So the process will be assessment , 0 points (or not enough for an award), the you request mandatory reconsideration (you may get a couple of points) , and then you go to appeal - maybe a year to 18 months  later and you stand a greater chance of getting the award then

    So just play the game

  • I’m sorry if you’ve had, or are having, a bad experience with PIP. Recent figures show that, where autism was recorded as the primary condition, around 38% of new PIP claims that reached an initial decision were awarded at that stage. That’s before any mandatory reconsiderations, or tribunal appeals.

  • That's pretty poor when more around 68-70% get it if they go through to MR and then Tribunal - which means almost half of applications they reject following assessment then get overturned
