Older late diagnosed or self identifying people, do you ever wonder how you made it to adulthood?

Hi Roy.

I remember quite a bit about your mother and I know where you are coming from (I think).

I sometimes think about the jeopardy I was in as a child because of bad parenting, besides the emotional cruelty/blackmail/neglect and yes, I think I could have disappeared from the world.

If I were living with my mother now one of us might become a murderer (but she has passed away anyway).

I hope it's not too long until you can be permanently based in Cornwall.

And if you are talking more generally, yes, I think quite a lot of life was torture and there were suicidal thoughts quite often and one attempt.

It's great that we are still here though!

I think when you're in it you don't realise that so much is wrong because you're just to busy dealing with stuff, it's only when you've had time to take stock and look back over it all that you realise how bad things were.

Oh, yes. It feels as though, all my life, I was the strong one and had to work out how to rescue myself in every situation. It's amazing any of us survive. 

Yeah this resonates, my mum would say that I was the strong one.
