Just diagnosed. What do I do now

So I'm 63 and just found out I'm level 1 high-functioning autistic. What do I do now? I have let work know so done that. Can I get some nice guru to guide me through life now?

All advice welcome.

  • One thing you can do is apply to Access to work to get help in the workplace. They can pay for things like workplace coaching for autism. I've applied but there is a long waiting list unfortunately so it maybe several months before getting the support.

The Anna Freud society can offer free one-to-one peer support and runs free group sessions under Autism Central. A lot of these are aimed more at parents and carers than autistic people themselves. I attended one this morning called 'What is autism'. Although it was aimed at parents the woman running it was autistic and the info was useful for anyone. They also have a couple of sessions aimed at autistic adults called 'Ageing well'.
