How do people manage anxiety

It seems that more and more things cause anxiety and things affect ability to do those things that help to relax, for example too hot to walk far and comfortably enjoy it and too hot to do much in the garden other than water. Even too hot to do much after work in the evenings.

The news gets worse and lots of ridiculous things politically and we can't do a thing about it.

  • I know how you feel - I have a list of gardening that I wanted to do - whioch is now just every other night water - the rest will need to wait until its cooler

Even my daily 2 mile walk has stopped due to the heat - although I may go tomorrow at 6:30 or 7 am

Other than that - lots of Spotify , I've watched possibly 3 world cup matches (2 fully and the rest was some bits of others)

More time at my computer than usual - and reading this forum to pass time

Oh and needless drives in the car, for the aircon - but I only drive A and back to A , not A to B then B to A  Grin

  • Dear Homebird,

Thank you for your message. I completely understand how you feel. I am sure other members will be able to offer some helpful advice. I think it is important to be kind to ourselves. Take some time to enjoy things we love. Do you like to read? I'm coping with the heat by just sitting for a few minutes near a fan with a cold drink while reading a book or magazine. I also like to listen to music.

We have some advice and guidance on anxiety and I wonder whether you would like to read through in case something there helps.
