Just wondering how other people stay mentally active?
Some things I do are reading and wordsearches but would be interested to see what others do

I did go through a little phrase where I watched the house of games... not sure why I stopped - maybe it didn't interest me as much as I thought it had
Hadn't thought about learning a language! Might see which language speaks to me the most and try learn some
I did some research into horses and some dog breeds, by getting books from library, I would do that again for subjects!
I'm not good at chess but I remember I like playing it maybe will see if we have a chess board laying around and see if I can get someone to play with!
Unfortunately I'm unemployed at moment so don't have work to keep mentally active
Not thought of watching lectures or long form information videos! Will have to think at what would interest me and give a go
What are alpha puzzles? Not heard of them before
I watch lectures and a lot of long form information type videos on YouTube. I am also always looking things up, whenever I think of things which is multiple times especially a day. I ve always tried to learn something new every day for decades.
I do various puzzles, such as sudoku. I try to read but I read slowly.
There is also work.
Just found this website that gives ways
It is remarkably fiddly and I tend to swear from time to time.
Read, like Martin fiction and non fiction, mostly medieval and preRoman history. I do lots of puzzles daily, crosswords both concise and cryptic, word searches and alphapuzzles. Genelogical research, I've just had my DNA results back from Living DNA so I can find out more about my deep ancestry. Watch news and current affairs programs. Use AI to find stuff out, ask it random questions and see where it takes me and often surprise it with the links I make, I told it to stop flattering me and telling me how clever and unusual I am and it told me that the stuff I ask about and know put me at an upper educational and professional level, I still think it's flannel.
I repair old pocket watches
that sounds like a good thing to be doing!
