Feeling younger than everyone else

I'm not sure if anyone else feels this way, but I feel as though I am the youngest one there even though I'm one of the oldest?

I was in a work meeting the other day and just felt like I was a junior worker who was there on the first day even though I'm one of the more experienced workers. I can't quite explain what I mean but I just feel a lot younger than I am in certain professional situations.

  • There are a couple of things, I think.

A spiky profile with uneven development of some areas, like emotions, can lead to a difference. Along with overwhelm or stress and the associated narrowing of thought making others seem more accomplished and calm.

But I think it can also be a perception issue, the world is just more intense with more wonder. If you still see in colour when others have grown up and switch to black and white, your perception of the world may seem younger than theirs.
