Respect

I think it's somewhat lacking these days.

I see a lack of it everywhere:

The way people relate to one another

The way people drive

The rubbish thrown away in public spaces

The trashing of our natural environment

The shouty politics

Cruelty to wildlife

What do you think?

I personally think the world would be a much better place if respect for everyone and everything, however different to us, and different their views (if human) were taught to children so that they could grow up to be respectful people.

  • It is sad that the community spirit that showed early during COVID didn't last for long.

I think one of the most concerning things is the speed that unrest starts via social media and it appears often with people who just arrive to have a fight.

However I would like to see more reporting of the good things that happen. I am sad to say I can be surprised when someone thanks me for making way for them, including young people on bikes.

  • I really enjoyed lockdown, even though I worked all the way through, I saw far fewer people which is always nice but everyone seemed "nicer" and more respectful, it certainly snapped back hard once it was lifted.

Don't get me started on social media!
