First Post

Hello everyone - I am nearly 50 and diagnosed in 2021. This is my very first post on NAS.

One of the things I have found really frustrating and stressful throughout my life is using websites, completing forms online, understanding online information or dealing with services online. What are other people's experiences? Is there anything that regularly causes destress, confusion or overwhelm?

I hope you won't mind my asking - thank you.

  • Hi TIW, welcome aboard. Slight smile

As someone who has been 'tech-savvy' for a long time now, I'm relatively comfortable with online services and actually prefer them. However, I've noticed that the quality and accessibility has become a lot more variable nowadays. While the various GOV.UK and NHS.UK websites are pretty good now, with financial services and online shopping it seems to be a coin-toss as to whether it'll be smooth sailing or not. From time to time there will be complete redesigns which throw me out initially and require retraining of muscle-memory. Unfortunately, for a lot of tasks it's now either expected that you have a computer or smartphone plus broadband, or it's much faster to do it online.
