Got my diagnosis

I had my Assessment appointment yesterday, I was diagnosed with Autism.

I am still trying to figure out what that means for me, I have for a long believed I was autistic, but hearing it from an NHS professional made it feel different.

Today has felt a bit weird in that nothing has changed but my head is telling me there is a change, if that makes any sense!

  • I had my diagnosis about few weeks ago at 48 years old! I’d never even considered it until about 18 months ago and I think part of me still didn’t really believe it until I saw it written down. No idea what it means for me now, questioning my past a lot and don’t know what to do with this knowledge to be honest! Had my monthly wellbeing meeting at work today (standard practice for all employees) and was holding back tears when he asked how I was feeling about the diagnosis. I hadn’t realised until then how much I had been bottling it up. That’s how I ended up here this evening!
