Right to Choose delays

Hello,

I was referred to my RTC choice, Clinical Partners, on 14th April 2025. I have just heard from my GP that my referral was not accepted until 6th March 2026. Clinical Partners have apologised for the delays. To make things worse, I am under the Greater Manchester ICB so all assessments are on pause again. When I was first referred, it was a 6 month wait- apparently!

I have no idea what to do about this but find it very distressing and have no idea how to advocate for myself.

Thank you for any advice or support offered!

Lydia

  • Yes 16 months. Which I know compared to NHS waitlists is not long. But at point of referral, the wait was advertised at 6 months and I know people who since I have been waiting have been referred, assessed and diagnosed.

The waiting time for an assessment via Clinical Partners as referred from the NHS ~ is 12 to 16 months currently. If though you can afford to pay yourself privately, with the cost currently being £2250, the wait is 2 to 4 weeks.
