Autism assessment

Hi. I’m going for my assessment soon. I know I’m autistic. The problem is the things I use to do have been removed by masking/copying. Still some come out at times not when anyone is there. I actually came onto the forum to ask another question but I remembered I have an assessment. I’m actually wanting to make some friends to be honest. I’m a hermit. I need some friends. Anyone know how I can actually make some friends as I hate society and just want to have some male friends but I don’t want any that live in a city because I don’t cope with all the people. Would be good to make some friends who lived rurally who are interested in board games and computers and other things that are about learning. Sorry it’s a really terrible question. Also apps are no use.

  • Hey, good to hear from you Water, we were a bit worried about you last time as your housing situation wasn't good. I hope that's improved now and congrats you are getting assessed now, it is good progress.

I don't know about the best way to make friends, perhaps if you have a local library, they might have a message board with some posters of groups you can try? Thing like board games, people tend to be a bit geeky so might be easier to get on with? Groups where you do something I think would be good too, as then the focus is on doing something, and the making friends can happen by going a few times and getting used to it.

    Good luck!
