I though it might be nice to have a thread that we can take into the summer and beyond, as the Spring thread will soon be redundant.

Yesterday  sent me down a rabbit hole when she mentioned this book on the 3 Good Things thread:

I then looked at this book:

The reason for the book made me sad:

“When the most recent edition of the Oxford Junior Dictionary — widely used in schools around the world — was published, a sharp-eyed reader soon noticed that around forty common words concerning nature had been dropped. The words were no longer being used enough by children to merit their place in the dictionary. The list of these ‘lost words’ included acorn, adder, bluebell, dandelion, fern, heron, kingfisher, newt, otter, and willow. Among the words taking their place were attachment, blog, broadband, bullet-point, cut-and-paste, and voice-mail…."

    This little juvenile robin followed me along the path in the woods today. When the dogs stopped to munch the newly rain watered grass, the robin would perch on the ground. When we walked, the robin flew around my face and head. It was quite incredible and it lifted my day.

    The ground in the woods hadn’t dried out completely but you can see still see where the earth had cracked even after the rain.

    My garden had an increase of bird activity yesterday morning following the first rains in weeks. There were many juvenile blackbirds. One was wet, fluffed up sunbathing on the lawn with its wings spread out. A young robin was back and forwards between the shrubs and redcurrant bush.

    Oh thank you for thisPurple heart. I’ve never seen a juvenile robin, at first glance it looked like a wren. I love it when they interact with us it lifts me too, it’s almost like they’re saying we think you’re okay we accept you. I’ve had some low times and I’ve gone out into nature and it always seems like on those occasions nature gives me something to lift me a little. It’s so beautiful Purple heart
