Newly diagnosed at 56

It took a while to ask my doctor for a referral for an autism assessment but it was worth it, having finally being diagnosed as autistic, having adhd and dyspraxia. It's early days yet, but it's reassuring to have my suspicions confirmed. I'm hoping that I don't feel regret for wasted years of not having been diagnosed!

  • Well done getting the diagnosis, even if we have suspicions the diagnosis can and does hit hard!

    I only got diagnosed last Thursday and there are a lot of emotions right now, im aged 53 and knew i didnt fit in with everyone around me from being a little girl. My lifelong struggles have been very hard, all while hiding who I was and trying to fit in. Just trying to take each day as it comes while coming to terms with my diagnosis.
