    I mostly avoid making rash decisions by always waiting a few days and making sure I consistently feel the same way.

    You have nothing to lose by contacting HR and asking if it is possible to go back. If they say no, you are no different to now, but they might say yes. Swallow your pride and just ask. Say sorry and you acted impulsively.

    But, you need to consider coping strategies to avoid getting in the same position again.

    You also should consider how fragile you are at the moment. If you are just down over the job then maybe it is ok.
