Autism can be expensive

After many years of use, I decided that my Summer jacket was now too shabby. Yesterday, I went shopping, looking for a light, informal jacket suitable for warmish weather. I tend to feel uncomfortable outside in just shirtsleeves, and where do you stow all the stuff you need to take with you? I buy clothes largely on feel, as one of my major sensory problems is texture and synthetic fibre textiles are unbearable to touch. There were some nice-looking lightweight jackets available, but they felt truly horrible to touch. This was repeated in a number of shops. Then I found a jacket that felt fine, nice colour, good fit, ideal. Of course it was 100% linen and three times the price of any of the others. I bought it, just thankful to have found something I could stand to wear. Autism can be expensive!

  • Hi

This jacket sounds very stylish, I love linen it’s so cool and comfortable.

I totally get what you’re saying about this, I have recently bought some trousers that felt fine when I tried them on but when I wore them yesterday they itched like crazy. The material is viscose which I didn’t realise I had problem with. Never mind we live and learn….hopefully Grimacing

    Enjoy the jacket though!!
