Well, one way you can tell is by volunteering. Do some small work at a local church, animal shelter, or similar organization and see if or how long you can handle working.

That can be a good litmus test to see if you can survive a job.

1. You can usually back out much easier.
2. You feel needed and have a purpose.
3. It keeps you connected with the wider community.
4. It can potentially evolve into an actual paid position (though rare)
5. It looks really good on a resume if you go back into the job market.
