Forms of Identification for autistic adult

My son is 25. I opened his bank account when he was a baby and have been his DWP appointee since 2004 and always had full access to his account. Recently his branch closed and since then I have had real problems accessing his statements etc for the DWP reviews etc. The bank suggested I open a new account with my name and his on it. Problem is we've recently moved house and the bank won't now accept his appointee form even though the DWP say it is still an official document. I've looked into getting him a driving licence/passport but he doesn't have enough ID. He has no post with his name on (he still lives with us and doesn't pay any bills). He goes to a paid placement 3 days a week so hasn't got a "job" so no wage slips etc. Anyone else had/having this problem? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  • I have problems with ID I have a driving licence but no passport.

Mum can't change her bank because she has no driving licence or passport and she has no credit history as she dosen't owe anything.

My son was told that his HMRC warrent card with his photo on wasn't acceptable.

    The whole thing is ridiculous.
