Oliver McGowan co trainer training course

Hope everyone is well. I wondered if anyone knows of any training courses available please for the Oliver McGowan training course for co trainers with lived experience as autism? The only one I can find is 2 hours away which means accommodation and travel costs on top of the £1k course fee. I don't mind paying for the course but that's a bit steep considering I'd only be able to do a couple of sessions a month. I live in West Yorkshire.

I have looked on the NHS website with the course details and contacted training providers for the North of England. Most are not offering training.

  • This is oversuscribed I was referred by a service provider to a recruitment company a couple of months ago. There are hundreds of people being pooled by these companies but only one or two being placed. What I discovered that shocked me was how little empathy the person I was talking to had about the position of an autistic person coming up in front of a group of people or having to travel a long distance on their own to a remote location. Its scary because a lot of these recruiters a simply recruitment companies chasing the funding that this programme brings them. Its all totally unregulated - it made me very uncomfortable.
