I find that some people don't have the ability to talk from imagination - their conversation is generally made up of small talk, gossip, logistics and what's happening around them in their immediate area. This generally makes me feel like I put a lot more effort into holding conversations, ultimately leading to understimulation.
Of course there's always a time and place for serious conversation but speaking from imagination feels a lot more mentally stimulating and enjoyable.
I feel like there's 2 types of people in this world, those with active and vivid imaginations who have the ability to tell stories, write books, produce films etc, and those who don't who need the likes of books, films etc to spark their imagination.
To help cope with social anxiety/social phobia, if I feel uncomfortable walking past someone in the street for instance, I like to make up stories about where they're going, or imagine them dancing and singing in front of a mirror in a dress using their sister's hairbrush as a microphone, as a way of distracting from the negative thoughts.

Im rubbish at small talk i find talking a load of nonsense more stimulating i find serious conversations uncomftable and draining. I to dont like walking past groups of people, i normally put my headphones on and listen to music to help zone out or make up something in my mind 2 zone out. My imagination creates good and bad scenarios depending on the subject or person but its a nice tool for helping me improve how i feel or zone out of some trigging situations. When i dislike someone which is easy for me to do my imagination can be quite dark and aggressive negatively affecting my mood as i find it difficult to switch off from some thoughts, they just keep spinning round
