What is your job?

Hey Everyone,

This is my first time here. I was diagnosed with Autism last year. I have always struggled with keeping a job. I'm just wondering what jobs other Autistic adults have that has worked for them?

I’m sorry to hear that holding a job has been a struggle for you. If there’s any way we can help let us know.

I worked as a professor of music for ten years, specializing in composition and history. It was fun, but there was a lot of things going wrong near the end such as burnout, lack of participation by students, and lowering pay. Not to mention I had ideological differences from the institution I worked for.

Now I work as an employment specialist, finding jobs for people with various disabilities. It’s harder overall, but there’s a lot of things I appreciate about this job.
