Personal Independence Paypents

PIP is budgeted to pay 20% less than DLA, the benefit it replaces as the criteria has changed. Lost eligibility is clearly going to be from the mental health conditions, and given our known difficulty in generating empathy from NTs, you have to wonder if any of us are going to be recieving help from this source.

I just recieved my descision: "I regret to inform you that you are not eligible for PIP..."

Parents
  • I've just had my decision through the post this week and it was much the same.

They couldn't seem to comprehend that although there are lots of things I can do and I 'seem intelligent' there are also a fair few thinngs that I struggle with. I had my face-to-face interview with a physiotherapist who seemed to have very little understanding of ASD at all and he only seemed to be concerned with whether I could phsically do something rather than whether I needed support to be able to do it.
